WHAT TO EXPECT... WHEN BOOKING YOUR SESSION
(Part 1) – Planning your session… The reason WHY! {MemoriesByJoannaR Photography}
You have decided to have a professional photo session for your family… Fabulous! Memories are too precious not to capture them at least once a year, these days. There are dozens of reasons to arrange to have your shoot each year. From your engagement session to your wedding and then maternity sessions to high school graduate! The possibilities are endless! Investing, in your family’s memories, is something that will be cherished for generations to come. I would love to become your lifelong photographer! If you're in the Charlotte Metro area {Mecklenburg, Union or Cabarrus counties} there is no travel fee. All other counties there will be a small travel fee for your session.
And now for the question of the day… “Why do you want to have a photo session?” Maybe you have a new addition to your family, birthday celebrations, just want to have a couple session to show your love, anniversary celebration, family reunion, getting married, high school graduation, or maybe you just want a fresh updated picture of your family. With time, we all change and with change, we are eager to capture the moments in between. You don’t need a reason to schedule a photo shoot, other than to have fun and capture the moments.
Next question is “Who do you want in the photograph?” This goes back to your reason… maybe your new bundle of joy, which means LOTS of baby pictures and then some mommy, daddy, sibling or grandparent time. A new family picture… candid pictures are the BEST and show their true personality shining through. No need to practice that “perfect smile”… Photographers have a way of helping you relax and capturing that genuine smile! If you want a family picture, I will still take individual shots of each member as well.
Next up to decide is if you want a mini-session which takes about 30-45 minutes or a longer session that lasts between 60-90 minutes to get in a series of pictures and help show your family and their personalities. Our goal is to get in as many shots as possible of photographs that you want to display at home or gift to family to display at their homes.
Mini sessions usually results in 15-20 edited images on disc. These sessions are geared more towards posed pictures, fun and relaxing, but more towards getting shots to give as gifts or display at home. This is usually at one location and doesn’t allow a lot of time to be creative. You can add on to this session with a package of 5x7 of each image or mixed prints for an additional cost.
Regular sessions usually results in 30-45 images on disc. These sessions are geared more towards having fun or telling a story of your family. This allows us to move to various locations and be as creative as you wish with multiple wardrobe changes. You can add on to this session with a package of 5x7 of each image or mixed prints for an additional cost. I would recommend doing a book for this session, sizes are 8x8 or 8x10 or 12x12. The books give your family something to look back on and remember the fun of the session and being together.
